Christmas

So we had a pretty great Christmas at our house. Santa spoiled all of us, and we have been enjoying all of our gifts the last few days. Carson got lots of age appropriate toys but of course he's convinced Hayden's stuff is cooler. It's been nice having Derek home from work. Here's some of our pics.

Where to begin...

We have been pretty busy lately with the holidays and all the festivities. November was a fun month, we took the kids to Disney on Ice and they loved it! We went to my parent's house this year for Thanksgiving and then went to Derek's Mom's house for pie. We're actually almost done with our Christmas shopping this year (Hooray!) and we put up our Christmas tree. Unfortunatley, due to a busy 18 mos. old I had to hang all our bulb ornaments on the higher branches because Carson believes they are balls and or apples. The other night when I was getting Hayden ready for bed Carson pulled a bunch off the tree and had one broken into pieces and was getting ready to taste sample some of the glass when we caught him. (I know I'm Mother of the Year!) Our dishwasher decided to break last night, but Derek seems to have it up and running. The boys ran and got their tools and I grabbed the camera because they are too cute! Here's some of our pics!

Partners in Crime

Don't let these innocent faces fool you, this picture was taken right after they dumped out all of Grandma's salt and pepper. I absolutely love the stage Carson is in now at 18 mos. It is so fun! He is really starting to talk, and loves to dance. Wouldn't it be great if we could all act as spontaneous as a 18 mos. old. Scream at the top of your lungs in the middle of a grocery store if your mad, dance no matter where you are if you love the song, really enjoy the little things in life such as fruit snacks, balloons, and icecream. Sometimes I want Carson to stay at this stage forever!

Smarty Pants

So today my 3-yr-old was standing on our couch playing his guitar and I said "Hayden get down from there, we don't stand on the couch." He responded, "But Mom I'm a rockstar and rockstar's have to be up high on the stage so the fans won't bother them." There you go, I stand corrected.

Tag

The rules are:* Link to the person who tagged you* Post the rules on your blog* Write six random things/unspectacular quirks about yourself* Tag six people at the end of your post* Let each person you have tagged know by leaving a comment on their blog* Let the tagger know when your entry is posted (Erin tagged me, so here's my six quirks.)

1.) I can't stay awake for the life of me if I start a movie after 10 p.m.
2.) I'm a bit of a germ a phobic or I should say I am an extreme germ a phobic. I carry antibacterial in my purse and I drive my fam a little crazy pouring it on their hands. Public bathrooms totally freak me out and I cringe if I have to take Hayden. I wash my hands at home several several times a day! I know I have a prob, I'm getting a little better since I have two little boys who are into getting dirty.
3.) I fold shirts a certain way and it drives me nuts if they are folded a different way. I attribute this to when I worked at Dillards for a couple years.
4.) I can not stand the sight of blood. I get lightheaded and queasy. I have a total respect for people in the medical field, I could never do it.
5.) I get really agitated if I have to pee. ( I don't know if I like this tag, I sound like a freak!)
6.) I'm really good at procrastinating, and then I get anxiety because I leave things to the last minute.

If you read this you are tagged!

Halloween Party

We had a Halloween Party last Thursday night at Derek's mom's house with our family and friends and we had a ball. We ate pizza, had a pinata, and played lots of games with the kids. It was fun to see all the kids in their costumes and we got a kick out of seeing the adults dressed up too!

Family Fun

We have had a busy few days at the Thatcher house. Derek's sis Aimee and her kiddos are in from Seattle so we've been playing hard! Last Friday we went to Derek's cousin's wedding, the kids have been having non-stop sleepovers between Grandma's and our house, and we took the kids to Chuckee Cheese! We have had a great time, and we have more plans to keep us busy for the next few days. Here's some of our pics!

Snowbird

We spent the last week up at Snowbird in Derek's families timeshare at the Iron Blosam. We had such a wonderful week. Last weekend Derek's Mom, Dallas, Sarah, and Olivia came up and stayed Sat. night. We went to a great Mexican restaurant at the Cliff Lodge Sat. night and hit the Oktoberfest on Sunday. The rest of the week our family just relaxed, hung out at the playground and swimming pool. The boys had so much fun! We went on a hike and saw three deer, everyone appreciated that except for Carson who was getting pretty impatient with the rest of us staring at the mountain side looking at the deer. Tuesday we went down into the valley and when we came back up the canyon we nearly hit a big bull moose who was crossing the street, it was pretty scary, glad Derek's a good driver! We love Snowbird this time of year, it's so pretty! We can't wait to go back next year!

Enjoying a popsicle at our camp in Bear Lake

End of Summer

As summer has come to an end I thought I'd post about what we did all summer. We visited the Zoo, and Lagoon, and we did lots of camping. We went camping at my family reunion in Lehi, went to Palisades, Bear Lake, and the Uintas. The boys love camping, they especially loved Bear Lake where they played on the beach and splashed in the water. Both boys are growing and learning so much. Carson learned two new words yesterday: out and please. He cracked me up when he brought me his shoes and said, "Mommy shoes," so once I had put them on he walked to the door and said, "Mommy, Out!" So we went outside to play. Although summer is over we are excited for Fall and all the festivities. The boys already have their Halloween costumes. Hayden is being batman and Carson a dragon.
